Really love the space it feels upscale neighborhood tavern. The beers on tap are fantastic and I loved both the jambalaya and the muffuletta.

We all enjoyed our first visit to Blue Dog. Our waitress was very friendly and patient with us. The tots were great (we had the garlic and Parmesan); the beer selection was good (though most of the dark beers were out at the time); and the overall atmosphere was fun.

The Blue Dog is a pleasant breath of fresh air on the West Side. Great ambience and great food---highly recommend it. Finally, we got good hot dogs in this city. You want to die and go to the promise land? Get the Ruffles dog. Kudos to the owners for bringing the closest thing to a Detroit coney to GR and what a kick ass name ! The tots are awesome. Little New Orleans flare to the menu briefly reminds you of being on bourbon street and beads. And don't forgot those chocolate chip cookies--they'll melt in your mouth like butter on a hot biscuit. The bar is superb. The restorative efforts from the previous establishment were first class. Good beer on tap and good whiskey poors. I highly recommend the "Dog" as the locals call it and I think this place is here to stay!

Great atmosphere. The traffic that comes in and out are friendly and seemingly having a good time with a better attitude when they leave. The drinks are reasonably priced and their menu is awesome. I walked in late and asked if their kitchen was closed. It was but the bartender said he'd keep the fryers open a little bit longer. I ordered the jalapeño popper tots and they were amazing. I happen to frequent this establishment now and enjoy it every time I barge in and stumble out.

Awesome food. Great service. I haven't had a burger cooked so perfectly medium when asked how I want the burger done. The tots rocked we had buffalo and the bacon ones. Jambalaya was fantastic. Definitely will be back. Love the atmosphere. Beautiful bar.

Needed to satisfy a late-night burger craving and, through Yelp reviews, decided upon the Blue Dog tavern for. We were only going in for a burger but we got much much more! Local craft brews on tap, extremely efficient and friendly bartender who, while he was the only one working, made us feel welcome and on rushed. Honestly the burger was one of the best I've ever had! We ordered medium, we got medium! The recommendation for a blue cheese bacon burger or their house specialty burger were spot on and we got one of each! The char was absolutely perfect, the buns were fresh and not soggy and we added nothing to the burger than what came onit! Great atmosphere extremely caring staff and unmatched food not to mention craft beer! Do not miss this gem

Ive been to the Blue Dog on several different occasions...The owners of this place have hit a grand slam! Awesome food, servers are outgoing and really enjoy their jobs. Their daily lunch specials are always great. I will continue to support....well done!

Food was so so not something I would race back there for but the service and atmosphere was fun and friendly. Would definitely go back for a local beer to sit, relax and have fun with friends.

Atmosphere! I can't say enough about it. The darker, cozy vibe is phenom. The chalkboard listing the beer. The picture of an actual blue dog. The wooden bar and booths. I love it all! Just a heads up, it is smaller and fills up fast. We were lucky someone was leaving as we walked in, otherwise we would have to stand or wait for a table. Also, I ordered the poutine over fries. Tastes great! I just wish there were more cheese curds, it was primarily gravy and fries.

Nice bar & burger place. Also, an interesting array of tater tots. I had the buffalo blue cheese variation. Came to the table hot and crisp with ample blue cheese crumbles tastefully tossed on top. I had the pastrami burger, the Blue Dogs entry in the local GrandWich competition. 1/2 lb burger, 1/2 lb pastrami, Swiss cheese, homemade kapusta, Dijon mayo in a brioche bun. It was very very good. Surprisingly, I ate the whole thing, felt satisfied but not over fed. My companion had the turkey rueben on grilled pita. He ate it all. Dan was our server. He was personable and genuine. Made sure our food and drink was to our liking. He seemed to enjoy working there. Adult groups, singles at the bar, some families with older children. Restroom was tastefully appointed with old photos, including a young Gerald R. Ford in his U of M football uniform, and, it was spotlessly clean. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Nicely remodeled Food was good and out in a timely manner, but place was not terribly busy. Bartenders are nice and conversational when engaged, and not intrusive. Good service and drink knowledge. Waitresses are slow and visit you infrequently. Without distinct attire or name tags it was hard to pick them out.

Went here on a Saturday afternoon around 4; not very busy which was good in that there was no wait but with a bigger crowd I'm sure it would have spiked up the atmosphere. Our waiter was pleasant and they have a decent draft beer selection as well as bottled beers. My wife and I tried the garlic and Parmesan tater tots and the loaded tots. The garlic and Parmesan ones could have used way more Parmesan but both orders came out good and hot. The size was such that just one order would have been plenty but our first time here we wanted to try a couple of them. My wife got the Bentley hot dog and liked it and I got the Bourbon burger and really liked it; it didn't seem too greasy which was nice. The men's bathroom seemed fairly clean but despite that had a nasty odor. Aside from that I liked everything here and would like to come back later some evening when they are busy. There is a parking lot across the street that was nice to be able to use since the spots on the street seemed all full.
